I have complete world upside down in recent days. Complete new team, new things, some upcoming changes in office. Not sure what I mention and what not. But certainly some non-techincal stuff catch up with me. Hope to have some time for my studies soon. Looking to start Mobile development in recent future. Any good source ?

It has almost everything you need to write a blog article. Allow selection of category, add tags, select dates. Hmm what is missing then ? I didn’t see the Meta information section. Does it support the Plugin for wordpress ? Yet to find those answer. But in all it is good for my need so far.

So, add application and remain updated on latest technology through my blog .

Why I am so happy? well to run my blog before, I need to modify some of WordPress code as I posted in one of my blog post. Which limit me to upgrade to Latest wordpress release as I am too lazy to transfer those changes to new version of wordpress. But now since I can use out of box product I can use latest version of wordpress with ease. Thanks Godaddy, though I love if you take that step before, but never mind .

But then I found VirtualBox  (http://www.virtualbox.org/) It is way better and mature then Microsoft’s Virtual PC 2007. It is free as well. I run Centos5 on my Vista Home Premium successfully. I observe that it is slight faster than Virtual PC 2007 as well. I must say I love virtualBox more than that. And will use VirtualBox only. However, it seems it consume more resources on host OS then VirtualPC, but atleast it runs the software I wish to run.

However online editing seems a good concept, and bring little money to developer like me. But how good they are for user? Well I have few point against these applications:

1) These applications are often quite slow, due to the fact that everytime you do some action on image they mostly use server side application to perform those action. Like if you want to rotate image, most application send it to server where a image application (75% imageMagicK) does the rotation and send it back.

2) They don’t have better tool then desktop, again the image are not easy bit to handle and very few programmer are able to make logic to edit image on user machine and rather use backend script. If a backend script is used most features are not possible, something like Lasso Tool in Photoshop. This tool is really seems hard to allow selection of image using Flash.

3) Browser restriction and security, as application are getting smarter, risk of security is increasing. And hence most modern browser start restricting intelligent scripts and hence if you use Online application with intelligence, then you either put your security on risk or you miss some feature of application.

Web solutions seems good, since they avoid the hassle of installing application, and things, but have you ever thought if a photo editing can be done with 900KB flash application, then why we need 200+ MB softwares like photoshop or even small application like MS paint ?

I would say image editing online is still infant, and they are not good tool to have them on regular basis, rather use a Desktop tool that upload a modified image to online, as that allow fast working on images. Once we all have 100 MB download and upload internet, then images on online application will be better.

It is not that microsoft make very good software, but they did nothing wrong by making them.

If you are  a open source developer, please please do not spoil the name of Open source community by standing against Microsoft. You make good software, then act and advertise on your software features, not on other products Weakness.

User View point:

1) Secure your account, in case your computer is shared or accessed by someone else.

2) Save your personalized settings (well in web world, this statement is not very true, but for desktop application/LAN application it does stand true)

3) Help in Gracefully closing of application.

Developer/Server/Application View point:

1) Allow developer to write a code to free System memory or Resources.

2) On Web allow developer to “kill” the session, so it won’t wait to expire by default timeout, and hence save lot of resources

3) Application gets better life, and usability. Crash little lesser (that I believe no stats available to me though)

4) Web application support more users, as they have more resources.

However, Remember Me feature has little to do with above message, but it do have something to do. Hope to see you incorporate that habit in your websurfing or application usage.

I also open registration to my blog, so those who wish to make an identity here can register. Now I will search for a method where I can manager my archive list better, it is really long. I also have to categorize my old post another 100+ blog to modify. Hope I got enough time to manage those.

But first wait for some content for my 200 Articles on this blog. Hope it will be good one.
